We made it to Cheyenne, WY at 5:30 on the evening of Day 5. It was so special getting to spend time with my brother and sister (in-law) who live in Cheyenne. Day 6 was spent driving around the F. E. Warren Air Force Base, walking around St. Mary's Cathedral, the Cheyenne Depot, and the Historic Plains Hotel, built in 1911, which is still in operation.
The Cheyenne Depot is a newly renovated Union Pacific Depot, which was built in 1886-1887. The train depot has many
trains going and coming, they repair train cars and direct many trains from large freight to passenger trains, but no actual loading of people.
A fun treat was seeing the Historical Movie Theatre on the Air Force Base which my brother is currently working at. The building was built in the 1930's.
