The days are beginning to all blur together! On the last leg of the journey to Yellowstone we discovered a few things...
1. Apparently we passed up the opportunity to stay at the best ever Motel in Wyoming;
2. We did find a great room for half the price others were paying in Cody, Wyoming; and
3. The buffalo in Yellowstone are alive and well and love to stop the traffic for long periods of time! We believe they may have a vendetta for humans for the foul handling of their ancestors in past decades. They walked so close to our car we could have touched them, and while I love the saying of "no guts, no glory," there is a time when common sense takes precedence. Our Operations Manager showed us upon arrival to the headquarters that both of their mini-vans have been dented by male buffalo this year. So, to that end, we saw several hundred today, all walking in between and around our vehicles. It made for a fine welcome to our stay in Yellowstone and we are encouraged to experience what else the area has to offer!
Your motel choices remind the "It'll Do Inn" I stopped at once, only to leave, because it wouldn't do! The buffalo look amazing. They seem to like the elk in Cannon Beach. I thought the buffalo would like to graze more and want more wide open spaces. It may be a good thing you didn't bring the camper! Sherri
